Cherry Ridge has been built, decorated and furnished to appeal to guests who are looking for something extra special for their break. Perfect enough for families celebrating a special birthday or anniversary, or for a stylish get-away. Located within its own landscaped garden at the edge of the village, this spacious and commanding detached house offers fine countryside views. The gorgeous indoor heated swimming pool, with Roman steps leading into the water, is integrated into the house and is exclusively for Cherry Ridge guests. There is also a games area in the Cart Barn with a table tennis table and table football, sure to keep all the family entertained! The owner also thoughtfully provides bathrobes.
Great Bircham itself has a village shop, post office, pub, playing field and a windmill (open April until end of September) with a bakery, tea room and goats and sheep to feed and pet. Climb to the top for a fantastic view.
Lying just 8 miles away, the beautiful Norfolk coastline provides plenty of cycle routes and coastal walks, with superb bird watching to be experienced at the rspb Titchwell Marsh. The lively seaside town of Hunstanton has lots of traditional attractions with long stretches of sandy beaches and rock pools, along with a Sea Life Centre, shops, inns, restaurants and excellent sports facilities including bowls, tennis, golf and watersports, making it a popular venue with families. The neighbouring resort of Heacham, home to Norfolk Lavender, has uncrowded sandy beaches where a day by the sea can be spent with a picnic. For the more adventurous, sea fishing and boat trips can be arranged to Scolt Head Island nature reserve, where you can spot the seal colonies. Couples holidaying together or families with children will be well catered for as there is something that would appeal to all tastes and ages.
At Brancaster, 8 miles away, a large beach, excellent for sailing and windsurfing, together with world-class golf, is ideal for keeping all the family entertained. The historic towns of Kings Lynn, Fakenham and Holt lie within easy reach and provide a selection of shops, theatres, inns and restaurants. Stately homes in the area include Sandringham Estate (grounds open all year round, house open to the public when the Royal Family is not in residence), Holkham and Houghton Halls and the historical ruins of Castle Acre and Priory. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

From the start communication with Matthew the house manager was very clear and helpful. He shared a very thorough guide for the house and was happy to answer any questions. We arrived on a very cold Friday afternoon and Matt had kindly already had the heating on to ensure we arrived to a warm house. This set the tone of our stay. We received a welcome pack including snacks, drinks kit and an appreciated Prosecco. The Kitchen was very well stocked and having salts, spices even tin foil was very useful when preparing food. There was lots of group size serving bowls and plates, and a good range of cups and glasses for all drink types. Two ovens were great when cooking for a group!The house itself was lovely, very clean and well presented. Bedrooms were all an excellent size and we fitted in travel cots in them no problems at all. The number of ensuites and bathrooms is ideal for a large group. Bed was one of the comfiest I've stayed in aside from my own!The pool was much larger than we expected, and nice and warm. Poolside towels and having dressing robes was a great touch.The garden was huge and much appreciated for a run around post nap. I imagine in summer it would be ideal for BBQ!Living room is well stocked with DVDS, portable speaker and we even found some games in a cupboard.Overall we had a wonderful stay for my mums 60th and would absolutely stay again and recommend this to anyone considering it.

A lovely property with excellent facilities, this is a great place for a family gathering. One word of caution there is a field adjoining the garden with some ponies in it. The owner of the ponies is pretty aggressive, using foul language and shouting at the children when they were stroking them. Otherwise a perfect stay

Cherry Ridge is a great place for families. The pool is great for everyone. Watching the wildlife in the garden interesting for the children. Local village deli and hotel were great for food. The only thing I would add to the house would be coat hooks in the hall and some in the bathrooms.
