Guests say

Fuchsia Cottage is a well-regarded property with a prime location near the beach, offering a cosy atmosphere with a log burner and comfortable beds. Guests appreciate its dog-friendly environment and secure garden, though some mention the need for TLC and updates in facilities.

Most guests found the cottage clean and inviting, with only a few mentioning areas that could benefit from a more thorough clean, such as windows, doors, and skirting boards.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach and local amenities, making it ideal for dog walking and enjoying the village's offerings.

Guests generally find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, though some have suggested that the sofas could be more comfortable and the steep stairs may not suit everyone.

The property is appreciated for its well-appointed kitchen and secure garden. However, guests have noted the lack of a dishwasher, the need for better lighting outside, and some maintenance issues with the oven, grill, and extractor fan.

While guests have mentioned the provision of certain amenities, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so a score cannot be provided.

The cottage was just perfect and in a beautiful location. Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Nearby beach was lovely and mostly sandy. Seals between sea Pauling and Horsey gap. Well worth the beach walk. It would have been good if the local pub was open, but it was closed Mon, Tues, Weds. Still, this facility shouldn't distract from the cottage. We had a great time.

What an absolutely lovely cottage. Lots of space downstairs, nice lounge with log burner, dining room and well equipped kitchen with washing machine and really good hob, grill and oven. Back porch was really useful and small terrace garden great for dogs. Upstairs a huge master bedroom with loads of storage and a nice second bedroom also with plenty of space. Great bathroom with tumble drier in cupboard. Parking space is small but was big enough for our volvo xc60.The little shop across the road is brilliant and has a post office and the very short stroll down to the beach and along the coast is lovely for a long dog walk.We would love to come back!

We always enjoy our annual visit to Sea Palling and area in December (not too many people on the beach!); Stalham with its Christmas market, independent shops and art gallery; local farm shop; Smallsticks Cafe and Waxham Barns for refreshments and local pubs The Lifeboat Tavern (not currently doing food but the new owners had made it cosy with a lovely fire and festive decorations), Nelson Head at Horsey and Fisherman's Return at Winterton-on-Sea (both do good food) all worth a visit. Do check for opening times for all these however! Lots of walks available and whilst we didn't visit the seals at Horsey Gap we did see lots of pink-footed geese flying over. We found the cottage clean, comfortable and spacious for us two adults and two small dogs but the stairs are steep as is the bath (and would suggest the water pressure be turned down!). It was also well equipped but a few basics such as a bottle of washing-up liquid, some liquid soap for both kitchen and bathroom, kitchen roll and Cling-wrap would have been helpful. Whilst the village shop is just a few yards away, feel that these should be provided. We were aware that the space for parking the car off-road was limited but we managed without any problem with our Toyota yaris cross and yes, as mentioned by previous visitors, a light outside the back door would be useful especially when letting dogs out at night and in the morning during the darker months. All in all, good value for money and we had an enjoyable stay.
