We have had a lovely stay at Herons view. The lodge is well equipped with everything you will need which is nice to see as there’s always something you need. Clean and comfortable, sofa is very comfortable indeed. I will say the shower was a bit temperamental but the owner has since sorted that out with no problem. I was not a massive fan of the ornaments personally but that is just me, and there is quite a lot of it knocking about, but each to their own taste and I spent most of my time on the wonderful decking and jetty either fishing or watching the various bird life and boats. Not stupidly busy here on the river either so it is peaceful especially in the early evening onwards. You can see the neighbours to the right hand side and speaking to them briefly very nice friendly people. Nobody wants 6ft fence along here else you’d see nothing of the lovely view. Great having the row boat and the kayak included to use. It’s a great location with the train station so nearby for links to Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Fishing was good for Roach and Rudd, Bream showed up on the last morning in numbers but I didn’t want a smelly net to drive home so I left them for next time. One very friendly duck comes right up to the door of the lodge. The local pub White Heron was very nice and has a pool table and dartboard too. Overall a lovely stay, thanks.

I will just list the issuesPhotos are old, much more furniture now making it feel small. Different blinds and floor covering.Never seen so much waste of space clutter, rubber ducks, photos of the Broads, JUST LOOK OUT THE WINDOW ! Having said that the bushes were over grown blocking the river view ! The old TV stand has been dumped outside on the decking covered in cobwebs and a bird stand full of things attached to it blocking the view. There are Christmas lights wrapped around the beams and about 30 rubber ducks, NOT IN THE PHOTOS !I had to move some of the clutter as there was no space to put any of our things, and when I did it was obvious that these had not been cleaned behind for a long time. The draining board had a metal rack and chopping board over it as a permanent fixture, when I moved these I was horrified with the built up GUNK ! It took me & my wife 2 hours to clean this place so we felt comfortable using bleach and antibacterial spray. There were 3 half empty bottles of washing up liquid on the sink and I just about got them in the cupboard below as it was full of left over stuff that people had left behind. The food cupboards were full of half used packets and bottles, I had to clear a space for our bits and pieces as well as cleaning with bleach. The shower has mould in the grouting and the rubber ducks in there were full of built up gunk as well !It is very intimate with the neighbours to the right but we were lucky, the 3 kids and 2 dogs left before us.It is more like a very cluttered home of somebodies than a rental. When you are looking at the river with the lodge behind you it is a fantastic location, even with the new fence (not lovely flower bush) with rusty metal fish shapes etc nailed to it.
