Holly Lodge offers a peaceful riverside retreat with beautiful views and a spotlessly clean interior. Guests appreciate the well-equipped cottage, comfortable beds, and the conservatory for wildlife watching. The secluded location is ideal for relaxation, though access can be challenging, especially in poor weather or for those with mobility issues. Some minor maintenance issues and a lack of welcome information were noted, but overall, visitors found the property charming and would recommend it for couples, families, or friends seeking a tranquil getaway.
Multiple guests praised the cottage for being spotlessly clean and well-presented throughout their stay.
The riverside setting and beautiful scenery were highly valued, though the property is difficult to find and access, particularly in the dark or wet weather.
Guests found the beds and sofa comfortable and enjoyed the conservatory. However, some mentioned cold tiled floors, a chilly kitchen, and storage heaters being off on arrival.
The cottage is well-equipped with hot water and a good shower, but some maintenance issues were reported, such as a broken trolley, non-working heater, and lack of an information booklet.
There were no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

The cottage is in a wonderful location all as described. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and sofa. The conservatory is a wonderful asset, for watching the boats and wildlife.Plenty of hot water, lovely drenched shower over the bath.A grab handle would be a great addition, to help get out of the shower.Biggest gripe, arrived in the dark [not an issue, had a torch] temperature only 5 degrees and all the storage heaters turned off. Property was 🥶 Appreciate the cost of electric these days but at least, the lounge could have been left on.

The cottage and its location was incredible, a truly lovely place, with stunning river views. It was very clean and well equipped. However, we did have a view issues which was disappointing. There was no cold water from the shower, so we couldn't shower. The storage heater in the kitchen didn't work, the kitchen was cold. The tap dripped in the bathroom sink, and it would have been nice to have been left a few dishwasher tablets. There was also no information booklet explaining how things work, or any local and emergency numbers (I thought this was standard in holiday lets). I understand there was a jetting and mooring, but this was not clear, assume it was the place in front that was fenced off and said private.Access to the property was difficult, according to the owners it mentioned online how to access the property, and that they supplied a trolly for the luggage. I have looked on the website where I booked and nothing mentioned. I did know there was no parking directly outside property. Unfortunately we arrived in the dark. We really struggled to find the property and asked 3 different people. Eventually we found where to park, and then you walk approximately 200 metres across a common (in the light this would not be a problem) . Having walked across a muddy field, with our cases, we got to the end of the field and still could not find the property. We did eventually manage to get hold of the owners. They said it was light up, in the day time we noticed there were solar lights, these did not work and it was pitch dark. There needs to be warning not to arrive in the dark or owners need to ensure the outside lights work. However the property was worth the difficulty access as it was amazing and I would go again and would recommend it, just needs a few issues sorting out

Perfect location for river watching. Peaceful and very beautiful scenery. May be difficult to find as it's not accessible from the road. Highly recommended.
