About this property

Approached by main and then country roads, this gorgeous old Victorian semi-detached cottage, Owl Cottage, sits in a quiet corner on the edge of the village of Southrepps in Norfolk and overlooking the surrounding fields. Perfect for a family or friends sharing, this recently completely renovated cottage is within easy reach of the village centre and the beach, while enjoying the peace and privacy of a countryside location on a working farm. Enter through the conservatory, which houses furniture suitable in any weather; enjoy a cup of tea in the light and airy space or take the furniture outdoors to soak up some sun. From here, the kitchen is well-fitted with sage cupboards, an electric oven, and a hob so you can cook up a storm, while the dining room is also a great space to linger in, with an electric fire to keep you warm while you tuck into your feast. Completing the ground floor is the sitting room, styled with stag wallpaper and contemporary furnishings, and a handy shower room so there’s plenty of space to freshen up in. Upstairs, the first bedroom is a well-presented double room, and the second bedroom is a pleasant triple room containing three single beds, perfect for the children to share; rest your heads after a busy day of exploring, before waking up and getting ready for another adventurous day in the family bathroom. Outside, the enclosed garden makes this property ideal for pet owners, with a wall and dining area so your four-legged friends can stretch their legs through the day while you admire the countryside. Set in the Norfolk countryside, just a few miles inland from the coast, the cottage is ideally positioned for discovering the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Reachable by car is the historic city of Norwich, known for its cathedral, the Norwich Castle Museum and Gardens, and the regular market. Why not make your way to the seaside towns of Cromer or North Walsham, for a day of playing in the sand and savouring traditional fish and chips and ice cream? If the charm of market towns excites you, Sheringham and the gorgeous village of Overstrand, plus many other attractions and market towns lie close by, and make a lovely day of shopping, eating and drinking. Owl Cottage is a characterful cottage you can enjoy any time of year.

Southrepps is five miles south of Cromer on the north Norfolk coast. With two shops and a popular pub. About three miles away is Overstrand, a cliff-top village with a large sandy beach. Cromer, just five miles from Southrepps, is famous for its Cromer crabs, a delicacy. A few miles up the coast is Sheringham, the terminus of the North Norfolk Steam Railway. In addition to the popular market towns of Holt and Aylsham, Norwich offers wildlife and birdwatching opportunities.

It is a solid and cosy building well presented and well equipped.. You have to remember it was February when we went but we were never cold. The central heating works well and there was always plenty of hot water. My only criticism would be that the double bed could have been wider and the furniture in the conservatory was a little on the small side too. It is well situated and only a couple of miles to the sea side. Apart from that I would rate this property very highly.

Well equipped kitchen and we liked the owl theme. Powerful shower. Convenient location for driving to Cromer and other nearby coastal towns/villages. Julie was friendly and easy to get hold of. The only downside for us was soft mattresses but this is a personal preference.

Accomodation was super clean and had everything required as per list including wifi. Friendly neighbour, point of contact if required. Would definately recommend.
