Peacock Lodge easily one of the best cottages we have stayed at, lovely property walled garden excellent for dogs very dog friendly overall Recommend this one for sure. why is this not a 5 star review. On the Sunday we came back to find a large noisy party in full swing just yards away. While the owners apologised for the disturbance which we appreciated we would not have booked if we knew we were going to be disturbed.

Peacock Lodge was a perfectly pristine place to stay. The accommodation was clean, tidy, homely, comfortable and had everything you needed. The dog and human baskets on arrival were lovely too. Although sadly we didn't get to try their chicken eggs as we chose to go out for brunch and dinner. The local pub was excellent for food and the locals were really lovely so we definitely recommend you go there. We also visited Beccles for food and a walk along the broads which was lovely. The hot tub was the main reason we booked here as we just wanted a few days of relaxation away from our city home. We used it morning and evening and it was a relaxing treat. We were happy to pay a slightly higher rate to have this luxury. The lodge is next door to the owners property but they were rarely there, however there is a fence around the garden/hot tub for privacy so that was good. The stone driveway was the only thing that was noisy to be honest when people were walking around. Due to good windows you can barely hear the cockerels so that was good as us city folk aren't used to that! The chickens are insanely friendly and come up to you when you pass them so do pay them a visit too if you come here. There are plenty of walks around the area and the folder the owners put in the cottage will tell you about the walks, food, hot tub - basically everything you need to know. We would have stayed a day longer if we didn't have to go back to work!

We stayed for 4 nights. The lodge was very clean with some thoughtful touches provided for the dogs - outdoor dog shower, treats, blankets. We fired up the hot tub on the last night which was also very nice. The owners were very friendly with great communication. Used as a base for visiting the coast
