The Brambles is a charming, characterful cottage in the heart of Horning, ideal for exploring the Broads and local amenities. Guests consistently praise its superb location, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and spacious garden. The hosts are welcoming and helpful, making arrivals smooth and stays enjoyable. While some mention areas needing refurbishment and occasional lapses in cleanliness, most found the cottage homely and well-suited for families or groups. The property’s authentic, lived-in feel and thoughtful touches create a memorable and relaxing retreat.
Most guests found the cottage clean and welcoming, with fresh bedding and towels. However, several reviews mention dust, cobwebs, and occasional issues with the shower and kitchen equipment. While these concerns were not universal, they were noted by multiple guests, suggesting some inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised, with guests loving its proximity to the Broads, local pubs, shops, and restaurants. The cottage’s central position in Horning and views of the waterfront are frequently highlighted as standout features.
Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, cosy lounges, and a homely atmosphere. The cottage accommodates groups well, and features like grab rails and a walk-in shower are appreciated by older guests. Some mention the need to duck under low doorways, but this is seen as part of the cottage’s charm.
The cottage is well-equipped with kitchen essentials, games, books, and BBQ facilities. The large garden is a highlight, though a few guests note it can be cluttered or could benefit from outdoor cushions. Parking for two cars is a bonus. Some minor maintenance and refurbishment needs are mentioned but do not detract significantly from the overall experience.
The hosts are frequently described as welcoming, helpful, and accommodating, providing clear instructions and local recommendations. While guests appreciated the personal touch and warm greetings, there is no mention of guaranteed gifts, so any such gestures should not be expected.

This is the third time I’ve stayed at the Brambles and it feels almost like a home from home now. It’s a perfect place for a group of friends to stay for a weekend, with great facilities and a lovely garden.

We had a lovely stay, the cottage gives a homely feel and accommodated 6 adults well. Richard and Sue greeted us on arrival and gave us a tour. The cottage has everything you need to cook all your meals but there are 3 lovely pubs in walking distance. Places to visit are all a short car journey away so a great base. Would definitely return.
