The place was hard to find as it just says about 'tarmac' road. There's no signage for The Granary Barn, then when you find Granary Barn, there's no signage for walking past their home round the side, through their garden and having to walk through a fruit tree and large lily to get to the Granary Store. Although spacious and well equipped, the Elfin kitchen is too confined and only has one plug socket, so you can only boil a kettle or make toast or use the microwave not all 3 at once. The cutlery drawer/tray had dog hairs in and under it, the washing up bowl and sink were brown. They have very fancy and probably expensive dish soap, but NO bleach?? The dishwasher doesn't fit the larger plates in which you only discover once you've used them. That area should be a worktop with a under counter fridge and small dishwasher, that would be much better, you can't have the doors open as you block the wooden trolley next to the larder cupboard. The freezer compartment needs defrosting. A large spider came from behind the wood baton above the door (where they keep personal items) when we got the spider off the wall we saw the wall above the TV was covered in cobwebs and behind the TV was the same. A hair clip of mine flicked behind the brown sofa, but it was thick with cobwebs, so I left it there. The cream armchair moves when you sit it and its sunk, so needs to go. Its almost as though most of the furniture has been recycled from their home into the Granary Store? The shower drain had grass in it and under the slip mat was lots of hair. The super king mattress had a zip link and overhung the bed base. If you turn to the middle, you roll back on to either side of the zip link. No pillow protectors on new pillows and the pillows were stained. Grey rug in the bedroom would move if you stepoed on it and both of us slipped on it. There were hoses left on paths, which were trip hazards and no lighting if you return home in the dark the whole place was pitch black. On top of the Elfin kitchen was thick dust, so was the white shelving unit, the Denon radio handset was dirty and the shelves were dusty. If you watch four in a bed or Alex Politzzi, you'd know what needs checking. The bathroom windows can't be opened as there is a climbing plant oytside that is growing over the windows, meaning insects etc could come in. Just so everyone knows, it's not mentioned until you get the handbook, no smoking outside the store or inside. This is because people leave cigarette ends on the floor of the garden. People should show respect and clear up after themselves as well as their pets, otherwise this ruins things for others!A good point was the towels, bedding and kitchen towels smelt fresh, but remove tags from new items brought instead of leaving them on bench cushions, throws and lights. Instructions were there for everything except the hob, we had to try work it out one evening before speaking with the owner before attempting a cooked breakfast. Lovely couple but would prefer to be seperate from their home as you have no choice but to walk past the front and back of their house when you leave and return.
