Guests say

The Lodge is a charming, well-presented cottage in a peaceful countryside setting, ideal for exploring Norfolk. Guests consistently praise its cosy atmosphere, tasteful decor, and beautiful garden with abundant wildlife. The property is well-equipped and comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout. However, the steep, narrow staircase and lack of a fully enclosed garden may not suit those with mobility issues or young children. The location is tranquil, though a car is essential for amenities. Overall, visitors enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay, appreciating the cottage’s character and the surrounding walks.

Most guests found the cottage clean, tidy, and well-presented, with crisp bedding and towels. A few minor issues were noted, such as cobwebs, dead bugs, and some mould in the shower, but these were exceptions rather than the norm.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, countryside walks, and proximity to Norfolk attractions. Guests enjoyed the peaceful setting and wildlife, though noted that shops and amenities require a short drive.

The cottage is described as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with quality furnishings and beds. Some guests mentioned the steep stairs and sloping floors as challenges, particularly for those with mobility concerns, but overall comfort was rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen, efficient heating, and good WiFi. The Aga cooker and steep staircase were challenging for some, and the garden is not fully enclosed. Maintenance issues were rare and quickly resolved.

Many guests appreciated the welcome packs, including milk, biscuits, and even dog treats, though these are not guaranteed. The decor and attention to detail were frequently mentioned as thoughtful touches that enhanced the stay.

What can I say The Lodge was really comfortable and clean, a lovely welcome pack was really appreciated thankyou! Spent 4 days enjoying the garden, it is’nt secure for the dogs but they were fine, beds were extremely comfortable with lovely crisp white bedding, and crisp white towels! very well presented and very tastefully decorated, the entrance to the property is a bit tricky best to drive in and out slowly! Would definitely come again enjoyed every second 😊

Would not recommend due to stairs being very narrow and difficult for older people and mobility issues also rather noisy as on the road which can be busy

The cottage is set in a peaceful and beautiful location and is comfortable. Walks from the doorstep are relatively easy and could be extended but keep to the narrow lanes to avoid sometimes quite busy traffic. The ceilings are low in most of the rooms downstairs so if you’re much over 6 feet tall you may find it difficult. The one aspect of the cottage you definitely need to be mindful of is the staircase. We are used to the Norfolk Winder staircase but this one takes the biscuit! Don’t take a large suitcase- I struggled getting our mid sized one upstairs. You need to walk backwards to descend the stairs and without putting too fine a point on it if you’re on the “large” side then you could have problems. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves.
