I've stayed in cottages all my years from being a kid myself with my parents to now being 30's with my own wife and 2 daughters. This is by far the nicest cottage I've ever stayed in! Though a little too 'picturesque' for my usual liking, this definitely isn't a bad thing. I like to watch boats passing through the day and Hickling is much quieter than the main rivers. The reeds are a little overgrown now at the entrance to the broad from the private mooring so you can't quite see everything when the sailing club are out BUT this in no way ruins the stay. It's beautiful, simple as that. It's quiet, not looked over by anybody else and is much bigger than photos make you expect! Would recommend to anybody and will definitely be back again. The garden is huge and the wildlife visiting is brilliant.. we had multiple herons, kingfisher, geese, swans, ducks and even a deer with 'puppy like zoomy zooms' playing in the garden! A brilliant week, the cottage was beautifully clean and is kitted with everything and more you'd need on a nice week away. The water is VERY weedy, I found out accidentally when going to check down the rather slippy ramp before my daughter tried to go swimming... take this as advice though and not a complaint in the slightest. I expected it and fully deserved the self dunking 😂

Brilliant position but for very little more we could secure accommodation just as close to the Broad for double the number and have the benefit of Wi-Fi.We will definitely return!
