Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. This eco-friendly, cosy holiday cottage creates its own electricity by photo-voltaic roof tiles, and is adjacent to a cattle and sheep farm, a mile from Eggleston. The converted cattle byre with level access and wide doorways, provides a picturesque countryside retreat. Durham city, 25 miles, has a 12th century cathedral, boutiques in cobbled streets, the Victorian market, restaurants and galleries. Visit the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Northumberland. A car would be preferable as shops and local ammenities are not within walking distance. Historic Barnard Castle on the River Tees is 6 miles. Shops 2 miles, pubs 1 mile.
Initial fuel for the woodburner included, thereafter available locally at cost. Additional double bed settee. Maximum sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. One dog only at £25.00 and this to be paid to the owner via bacs transfer 10 days prior to arrival, or entry will be refused.
The property is located on a working farm.
The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.

Great place for peace and quiet. With everything you need, except for WiFi. However, for a week we managed fairly well. Visited some great interesting places and the scenery is stunning.. the owner Wendy was great with a host of ideas, if you like walking, this is the area to be.Will defo pay a return visit.
