A first class apartment located on the high street in the pretty market town of Barnard Castle. Set over three floors, this beautifully-renovated apartment is a real delight and provides the perfect location for that much-deserved romantic break, just a short walk from the many amenities of this popular town. Guests will find an unusual layout with the main living area set over the first floor, providing interesting views of the ancient Market Cross. The utility/storage area and access is from ground floor level, whilst the two bedrooms, a king-size double and twin with en-suite are located on the first floor, with a separate shower room being located on the second floor. Individually styled with many of the old features of this delightful apartment, the sitting room boasts panelled walls and modern furniture, and is bathed in a lovely light from the feature windows, the perfect place to relax after a long day. There are so many ways to enjoy the town that once you’ve parked up the car, you won’t need it during your stay. Visit the nearby Bowes Museum with its colourful collection of European art, browse the bustling weekly market or spend time in the one of the many pubs and local eateries set on the doorstep of this lovely holiday home. There are lots of things to see and do, including the breathtaking High Force, England's highest waterfall, and a wealth of history waiting to be discovered at the fantastic Raby Castle, whilst the stunning Witham Hall, in the centre of Barnard Castle, and Egglestone Abbey, an abandoned monastery on the banks of the River Tees, both sit just outside the town. Within short drives are the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the historic North Yorkshire market towns of Richmond and Ripon, the Stang Forest, the Northern Dales town of Reeth, the city of Durham, and even the Lake District, making this excellent property a superb base for touring the many delights of this historic area.
