Steeped in history, Durham is renowned for its spectacular architecture and the unesco World Heritage site of Durham Cathedral and Castle along with its famous university which dates back to the 13th century. Enjoy a 10-minute train journey into the vibrant city of Newcastle and only 45 minutes to historical York. Shop and pub serving food 0.5 miles.

We really enjoyed our stay The cottage was excellent kitchen was well equipped bedroom comfy bathrooms very good and constant hot water . It was welcoming and the walk along the river to Durham was excellent .
