On the first night we heard an Owl really loud which set the tone of the holiday. Never seen as much wildlife! Sleep comes very easily at night but we had to leave a light on when using the facility's. It gets very dark on the Two steps near the loo! There was nothing we couldn't do in the kitchen extremely well stocked with tools. Finally parking is a doddle being close by! Thank you all john and brenda Bamford

The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable, and had plenty of space for us all. The shared garden was great and came with football nets and deckchairs as well as a dining table and chairs for each house. Comfortable sofas and beds and the kitchen had everything you'd need. We loved watching the tractors go by and we even got to feed the calves their milk. This was our first visit to Alnmouth, it's a beautiful town where the river meets the sea, there is a huge sandy beach and the town has a few pubs, a nice ice-cream shop and of course fish and chips. Alnmouth also has a train station, pay £1.50 to park there all day and you can get to Edinburgh in an hour or Newcastle in 30 mins. We really enjoyed staying at Bilton Barns and are already planning our next visit.
