Several guests mentioned the property could benefit from a deep clean, noting areas like under beds and skirtings. However, one review described it as very clean, indicating a generally acceptable level of cleanliness with room for improvement.

The cottage's location is praised for its proximity to attractions, ease of access to Alnwick, and nearby amenities. Road noise is noted, but it did not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback on location.

Guests found the accommodation comfortable, with a particularly comfy double bed and a pleasant patio area. Some concerns were raised about the single beds and noise levels in the morning.

The property is well-equipped, but several reviews highlighted issues with the hob, oven, and water pressure. Maintenance problems with the heating system were also mentioned, though the owner's responsiveness to issues is noted.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Although it was difficult to find this house on arrival, a young lad who lived nearby showed us where it was. So clearer instructions would have been helpful. The property had everything we needed and was in a great location, easy for the coast, Northumberland National Park and even a day trip to Edinburgh! One main problem was that the water pressure in the bath was useless and would’ve taken ages to run a bath, therefore we had to use the en suite shower. Although the property looked fairly clean, on closer inspection I’d say it needed a real deep clean. Otherwise all in all a great week staying here, thank you!

The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, close to the main road, allowing easy access to Alnwick, Bamburgh and Seahouses. You can hear the road noise in the bedroom, which didn't bother us as we are sound sleepers. The en suite was good with good pressure from the shower, however the same can't be said for the bath the water trickles out taking forever to fill. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, however the fridge/freezer was on the small side. The oven worked well but the hob was not very good at all, the plates do not heat up very well, making them difficult to use. The cottage overall was good, but needs these couple of things replacing to make it better.

Property is in a great situation for visiting the many attractions in the area.We found the accommodation comfortable and with plenty storage for the two of us. There is no wardrobe in the second bedroom, which could be a problem for some. There were no towels left in the main bedroom, which I assume was an oversight, and we simply used those left in the second bedroom. There were few instructions. In particular there was no notation on the switches on the hob, meaning that you had to guess which knob to use for a particular ring, and which way to turn the knob for high or low. There was a very small sticker on a box on the wall in the kitchen telling you to switch it on on arrival and off on departure - this was for the hot water and heating, and should have been more obviously indicated. There were no instructions about what to do on departure.
