There is a cosy multi fuel burner in the living room and the well-presented kitchen/dining room is also on the ground floor, and there are three bedrooms all with sea views and a shower room on the first floor. Shilbottle is located equidistant, being less than 4 miles away, between the historic market town of Alnwick and the pretty coastal village of Alnmouth. There is a variety of local facilities within this welcoming village all around ½ mile from Sea View, as well as walks direct from the cottage.
There is also a wide array of amenities including a cinema/playhouse, restaurants, independent shops and a variety of pubs available within Alnwick. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland, (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts!), is a popular visitor attraction, or visit the Alnwick Gardens; a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden, and visitors can dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe. The picture postcard village of Alnmouth offers a variety of good restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. For sailing enthusiasts there are yachts available and small boat moorings within the sheltered estuary. Golf lovers will delight in the two courses close by: one being a fine 9-hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18-hole course at Foxton enjoying panoramic views.
Also, the towns of Warkworth and Amble are close by, both of which have excellent restaurants, pubs and shops. Visit the castle and beach in Warkworth, as well as the marina and quayside in Amble. From Amble, enjoy a boat trip round Coquet Island bird sanctuary.
Sea View is an excellent choice for those seeking a homely base that gives easy access to explore the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Heritage coastline designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the east and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west. Bus routes to Alnwick and Newcastle are available nearby and the Sustrans Cycle Route (route 1) is easily joined from the property. Good convenience store, pharmacy, post office ½ mile away. There is an Indian restaurant/takeaway and a pub 1 mile away.
Please note BBQ's are not permitted on-site.

A lovely little place for, with lovely views and very close to Alnwick. With a nice garden to relax in as long as it's not to cold

It was a pleasure to stay at Sea View Cottage. The location was perfect for what we needed over that 4 day break. The house suited our needs as a base to explore Northumberland and hunker down amidst Storm Amy. The house was clean and tidy with clear instructions to use items within the house. I would be happy to stay here again.
