Guests say

The Steadings is a beautifully furnished and well-equipped cottage, praised for its cosy atmosphere, spaciousness, and excellent location for exploring Alnwick, Bamburgh, and the Northumberland coast. Guests consistently highlight the cleanliness, comfort, and suitability for families and dog owners, with a secure garden and ample parking. While a few guests noted minor issues with cleaning standards and the absence of a welcome pack, the majority found the property inviting and well maintained, making it a popular choice for a relaxing countryside break.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and well presented, with several reviews specifically praising its spotless condition. However, a small number of guests reported issues such as cobwebs, spiders, and a need for more thorough cleaning in some areas, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is frequently described as ideal for exploring Alnwick, Bamburgh, and the Northumberland coast, with easy access to local attractions and countryside walks. A few guests mentioned proximity to a road and a preference for walking distance to pubs, but overall feedback is highly positive.

Guests consistently mention the cottage's comfort, cosy lounge with a log burner, comfortable beds, and spacious living areas. Minor comments about light coming through blinds and mattress quality in one room were noted but did not detract significantly from overall comfort.

The cottage is widely praised for being well equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen, enclosed garden, and ample parking. Some guests suggested minor improvements, such as more microwaveable dishes and better garden security for dogs, but overall facilities are highly rated.

Several guests noted the absence of a welcome pack or starter items such as milk, which was surprising given the otherwise high standard. While some appreciated the attention to detail in furnishings, gifts or welcome packs are not guaranteed at this property.

Lovely cottage, comfortable, clean, well equipped and spacious. The reason for the 4 stars is that the over bath shower had very poor water pressure and leaked, we all ended up using the ensuite shower. The ensuite had a nasty smell that seemed come from the sink, keeping the plug in helped reduce the odour.

Lovely cottage in a stunning location situated high above the Northumberland countryside. Clean, very comfortable with a pretty garden and outdoor seating. Minutes from Alnwick (don’t miss Alnwick castle) and close to Seahouses. Ample parking. We will definitely return!

A lovely, cosy well equipped cottage. Close to local attractions such as Alnwick Castle & Bamburgh castle. We do prefer somewhere within walking distance to local pub & shops so not likely to book this particular cottage again but that is the only reason. Everything else was lovely.
