Waren Mill is a beautiful seaside village occupying stunning views across Lindisfarne and Holy Island. For a wider choice of places to eat, take a short 3-mile drive into Bamburgh and Seahouses, or if the tide times are kind, on to Holy Island. 2-minutes from Waren mill is the tranquil seaside escape Budle Bay, a beautiful bird sanctuary with huge mud flats that are exposed at low tide. The whole area is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and is very popular with birdwatchers, particularly in the winter when thousands of wildfowl and waders spend their winter on the bay’s mud flats.
Various water sports are also popular in Budle Bay in the summer months. The bay provides shallow conditions that are particularly good for kite surfing at any level. Nearby Bamburgh has its own 18-hole golf course at the north end of the village. The course offers stunning views across the beaches, countryside and of Bamburgh Castle, and the village itself is often quoted as the most scenic course in Britain. The course has a clubhouse that welcomes visitors at all times of the year and also serves food for those who choose to play here.
Bamburgh is one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, open to the public on a daily basis. Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants, a butcher and a couple of village shops for essential groceries.

Lindisfarne View was very comfortable and clean however the property is in need of updating both internally and externally. It is advertised as dog friendly however there is very limited space outside the property to toilet a dog or sit outside, some of this is private land which was not signed as such, the owner of the hall came and pointed this out to me! Substantial renovations were happening at the adjoining property, starting each day between 7.30am and 8am, not peaceful!

A beautifully presented cottage, very comfy bed, very clean, handy location for Bamburgh, Seahouses (Farne Island boat trips), Holy Island and Berwick. The owner was very quick to solve a small problem we had. A very quiet location with plenty of parking. Thank you.

The cottage is in an excellent location with amazing views over Budle Bay. The living area is very comfortable with plenty of seating for six guests. There are the usual white goods in the kitchen area, but I don't think it meets the "well equipped" description offered in the brochure in terms of basic cooking and serving. For example, there were only two teaspoons in the cutlery drawer and the handles of several of the knives & forks were loose. There was only one serving dish which we had to keep washing. We did appreciate the provision of dishwasher tablets and kitchen roll, but were glad that we'd taken our own foil and cling film. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of hot water, but the bedrooms and bathrooms themselves were tired and in need of a bit of TLC. For example the lampshades in one bedroom were old and torn, and the headboard had slipped down at one side in another bedroom.
