This delightful apartment is right in the historic heart of Berwick-upon-Tweed, yet just far enough outside the inner town centre so you can avoid the everyday busyness, yet be in the middle of it within a minute or so. Located on the ground floor of the building, Heron Apartment is easily accessible after parking, and the apartment itself is the ideal base from which you can explore the delights of this stunning part of the country. With the beaches of Northumberland and rolling hills of the Scottish borders both easily accessible, you’ll never be short of things to do. The town itself is steeped in history and has a plethora of activities on offer whatever the weather.
The accommodation is well equipped, modern and tastefully presented. The comfy sofas in the living room are perfect for collapsing on after an exhausting day out. The kitchen has the appliances you’d expect, including the all important dishwasher, and the dining area is ideal for fuelling up before going out. That said, the amount of café’s and restaurants within a few minutes walk suggest you’d perhaps dine out more than in. The larger of the two bedrooms provides a kingsize bed, while the second room has a comfy double. For the days the weather is a little less ’holiday’, the superfast broadband will make some internet based entertainment that little bit more enjoyable and reliable.

We have only just (yesterday), returned from two weeks at the Heron the Apartment. It is ideally located for all good local amenities. One of the most important aspects is your own private parking is included. The owners are most attentive and caring, the apartment has all the facilities and more that a holiday stay requires. Also I must say the amount of towels was lovely as was the welcome 'basket'. The 'bee friendly' packet of garden seeds will planted in their own pot tomorrow.Just for possible future guests we highly recommend Cocklawburn Beach, just four miles south, beautiful sandy dunes, free parking, but no loos. Plenty of hostelries in Berwick that need visiting, also just a couple of minutes walk from the Heron is an excellent local butcher Skelly's, fine meats, and very tasty steak pies & quiches. Also went to Eyemouth, over the border, site of the 'Widows and Bairns' sculture which remembers 189 fishermen lost in 1881. Whilst there had a lovely capuccino and cannoli in Giacopazzi's, where four generations later they still are making gelato and winning international awards.Berwick and surrounds is a great area to visit and the Heron Apartment completes a 'what more could you ask for' UK holiday.
