This delightful apartment is right in the historic heart of Berwick-upon-Tweed, yet just far enough outside the inner town centre so you can avoid the everyday busyness, yet be in the middle of it within a minute or so. Located on the ground floor of the building, Heron Apartment is easily accessible after parking, and the apartment itself is the ideal base from which you can explore the delights of this stunning part of the country. With the beaches of Northumberland and rolling hills of the Scottish borders both easily accessible, you’ll never be short of things to do. The town itself is steeped in history and has a plethora of activities on offer whatever the weather.
The accommodation is well equipped, modern and tastefully presented. The comfy sofas in the living room are perfect for collapsing on after an exhausting day out. The kitchen has the appliances you’d expect, including the all important dishwasher, and the dining area is ideal for fuelling up before going out. That said, the amount of café’s and restaurants within a few minutes walk suggest you’d perhaps dine out more than in. The larger of the two bedrooms provides a kingsize bed, while the second room has a comfy double. For the days the weather is a little less ’holiday’, the superfast broadband will make some internet based entertainment that little bit more enjoyable and reliable.

What a beautiful apartment, such a good place to stay and explore the surrounding areas. The welcome pack was beautifully presented. In a basket, with crisps, cookies and a bottle of fizz. We felt so welcome from the start. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with everything you'd need for your stay. While in Berwick upon tweed we explored the local shops, walked to Spittal twice, eat out at the chippy up near the train station, the Turkish was amazing, Flinders wine bar was very accommodating. Their host was so professional and knew her stuff. Our daughter is 15 and loved going there to play the wide range of board games they had. As the train station is a short walk away we caught the train over to Edinburgh, and had a lovely day out.Being able to return to the apartment which has such a relaxed and safe feel to it, made it a great place to chill after busy days out. The wild seeds where a lovely touch and I look forward to planting when we get home.I will miss Berwick upon tweed, with its charming historical routes and eye catching sea views. We were looking to see seals towards the end of our visit.

Had a wonderful stay. Apartment is spacious and fitted out to a very high standard. Beds and living room furniture are robust and comfortable. Appliances, plates and cutlery are excellent, where else would you get a le cruset teapot and butter dish!The owner couldn't have been more helpful prior to or during our stay. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We used Berwick as a base to travel around the area as there are so many places of interest nearby but it is a lovely place with friendly, welcoming people, particular mention to Skelly's butchers for their delicious pork sausages and Hareta Sushi for their brilliant authentic Japanese dishes. Slightly further afield the gelato from Giacopazzi's in Eyemouth were out of this world!All in all a great stay and would love to return.
