Guests say

Tally Ho is a well-received cottage in Northumberland, praised for its ideal location near the coast and local amenities. Guests appreciate the property's modern amenities, enclosed garden for pets, and the thoughtful welcome touches. While most found it clean and comfortable, some noted areas needing improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. While some guests found Tally Ho clean and tidy, others reported issues with dust, dirt, and pet hair. The inconsistency suggests room for improvement, though the property was not universally criticised.

The cottage's location is highly praised, being close to the beach, local shops, cafes, and pubs. Its proximity to various attractions in Northumberland makes it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere, a safe garden for pets, and a well-received welcome hamper. Some concerns were raised about specific furniture items and bedding.

The property is commended for its well-equipped kitchen, fast WiFi, and large TV. However, there are mentions of maintenance issues such as a broken washing machine and the need for garden upkeep, which affects the score.

Many guests mention and appreciate the welcome hamper and treats for dogs, reflecting the owners' thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gestures, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Shower & Toilet very good ( Clean towels and bed linen ) Minor concerns : Housekeeping- NOT Cleaned to any reasonable standard ( floors throughout were not vacuumed or washed ) . Skirting boards had dog fur ,and generally dirty . Kitchen utensils were mainly clean , but glasses and some other items were Not . General Maintenance: Access to the property was impeded by over grown hedges ( which also impacted on access to others properties- as it is a shared path ). Garden in need of some Love and attention , main gate had expanded ( due to damp / wet conditions- could not be closed properly ). Porch / vestibule door also suffered from expansion, and was difficult to close . Patches of damp On walls by small closet in hall, and on bedroom wall above window ( to the top left hand side ) . Windows and window locks in need of cleaning and lubrication ( as suffering from condensation, causing locks and handles to not work correctly). Minor issues that could have made this stay Excellent .
