Guests say

The Dunes is a spacious cottage praised for its fantastic location near the beach and its large enclosed garden, ideal for pets. While guests appreciate the well-stocked kitchen and the property's potential, they note that it requires attention to detail and maintenance to enhance its appeal.

The property was generally found to be clean, but some guests reported dust, a dirty garlic press, and bird droppings in one area. The washing machine also showed signs of dirt when accessed via the emergency release.

The location is highly praised for being close to the beach and local amenities, making it a great spot for a holiday.

The beds were described as firm and fairly comfortable, and the large garden was a plus for pets. However, issues with a foam mattress and malfunctioning blinds affected the overall comfort.

Several guests reported problems with hot water, broken blinds, and difficulties with the TV and other appliances. Maintenance issues were a common theme, suggesting the need for improvement in this area.

While a welcome pack was mentioned, it was deemed insufficient, and there was no consistent reference to thoughtful touches or gifts across the reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to accurately score this category.

A lovely house in a good position two minutes from the beach and an excellent restaurant. Kitchen well stocked with utensils. However, the ensuite shower was difficult to use as it was boiling hot or freezing cold, no in-between. Some of the blinds were not working or broken. The window near the kitchen sink although locked in vent position wouldn't shut so very draughty. A large enclosed garden was great for the two dogs to let off steam. If the few problems were addressed and rectified we would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely tastefully decorated house and would probably stay there again.

This house is in a great location next to the beach but definitely needs some care and attention. Certainly should not be advertised as luxurious. The welcome pack was some shortbread biscuits! I do not need a welcome pack but do not advertise one and then expect biscuits to be enough. Many of the blinds in the house were missing their pulley so did not work, not all the remotes worked and figuring how to use the TV took some time. The master bedroom has a TV but it did not turn on, neither remote worked. One of the dining chairs had a loose leg and the drawer in the table fell apart when used. The back gate could not be closed from the outside so had to be left open. There are weeds on the front driveway and around the house. It was a clean house and the bed was firm and fairly comfortable, there was equipment in the kitchen, but I will not be returning to this house despite its location, and would not recommend anyone to book it.
