Lovely little cottage at the top of the lane. Peaceful location , birdsong was an added bonus. Everything was as described so absolutely no issues whatsoever. Very kind of the owners to leave oat milk, pint of semi skimmed milk and two caramel wafer biscuits. This is a small, beautiful village so please don’t expect a village shop, restaurant etc. there is a social club which welcomes visitors . Plenty shops, amenities etc within a short drive. Looking for a larger town then Hexham or Gateshead equidistant at 15 minutes drive.Kitchen dining area on ground floor with bedroom, sitting room and bathroom on 1st floor. Lovely views from cosy living room and bedroom . Location really convenient part of the country. Myself , husband and small dog thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Would have no issue in returning and highly recommend.

This Smithy was comfortable and had everything we needed. We were even able to stream our Netflix on the TV, which we find is not often the case in rental cottages. The cottage was a great base for exploring the eastern part of Hadrian’s Wall by bus and train. There are lovely walks to Prudhoe and along Whittle Burn, and we saw and heard many birds. Parking was not a problem. Unfortunately there’s no food shop in the village.
