Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.

... We spend all day out and about walking visiting amazing places for eating breakfast, lunch and evening meals.... Then return to this cosy cottage with its log burner and watch, DVD's with a glass or two of wine after action packed days!!

Very clean and well decorated. Beautiful cottage and had everything we needed. Hosts was very helpful and available whenever we needed any help or support. Also was very kind and left a basket of Xmas goodies and snacks for our arrival !!

The generous welcome pack was much appreciated and Hilary went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable -sorting an unavoidable hiccup very promptly and efficiently The cottage is lovely,very clean and comfortable and a perfect place to explore Warkworth and its surroundings. Riverside and beach walks ,cosy pub,restaurant and a castle all walkable from the door. Easy parking and a real home from home. Would definitely recommend.
