Very cosy and comfortable cottage, well equipped with everything we needed. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 dogs - great dog walking path along the old railway track nearby. Within easy reach of Cockermouth and the coast - Whitehaven and St Bees. Lovely walk around Ennerdale Water. Good value and a lovely break.

We were unfortunately travelling for a funeral with our 3 dogs so booked Catbells fairly last minute. It was absolutely perfect for our needs and we especially appreciated the extra bits for the dogs (and advice on not over exercising dogs on the fells!). Clearly a property owned by real dog lovers. The location is a little way out of the main lake District, but perfect for our needs visiting the west lakes. Hopefully we can stay again under happier circumstances and enjoy some of the local walks!

We had a perfect four nights at Catbells. The cottage is homely and very well equipped. The mattresses are as comfortable as any cottage I’ve stayed in (what make are they?). The garden is teeming with life and it was a joy to watch it.
