For a holiday with a difference, Whitehall Pele Tower is a wonderfully atmospheric 14th-century Pele Tower providing a magnificent setting for a large family or group, perfectly placed for exploring the Lake District and Solway Coast. Grade I listed, the house has been owned by the same family for 150 years and has a long and fascinating history. An addition to the original building was made in the 16th century and the first restoration was made in 1861, after it was bought by the merchant and philanthropist George Moore.
Whitehall Pele Tower has all the benefits of modern living, whilst retaining its original character. The house stands in an acre of grounds containing the picturesque ruins of a Victorian manor house. Two of the larger lawns can be used for family games. We had a great time and really enjoyed the space. The tower has so much character but is still very homely. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds comfy, bathrooms plentiful for a big family. We loved the garden, great for football, and the games room. Loved the couple of quiet hours spent reading at the top of the tower enjoying the view.

Really lovely and unusual property. The house is very spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen is well-supplied with equipment and all the basics for cooking. There are lots of games, DVDs, and table tennis for wet weather, too. Highly recommended.
