The apartment felt like home from home but with better views. There was nothing more we would ask for the hosts made us welcome even before arriving with sharing local info, which was gratefully appreciated

A lovely situated property overlooking the harbour where you can watch the ebb and flow of the tides and lovely sunsets. The property itself was very clean, well supplied and had all you needed for a stay here. Pleasingly decorated with tasteful furniture. The bed was very comfortable. We had a couple of meals in The Lifeboat Inn, gorgeous chips and visited a few other pubs. The Senhouse Roman museum is of interest. Walks around the harbours various piers are a must with views over to Scotland when conditions allow.Bowness on Solway, Whitehaven, Keswick worth visiting. Lovely drives through some of the lakes. Further away is Wastwater with views of Scadell pike and a lovely pub at Wasdale Head. Hardknott Roman Fort worth visiting for spectacular views (a drive up a 1:3 hill to a small parking place or can walk up from the bottom by the cattle grid)
