Note: Anyone who sleeps in the first floor bedroom must be fit and capable of climbing through the small hatch which is 52cm/20 inches wide, 75cm/29 inches high and 106cm/41 inches from the floor. The second floor bedroom must not be occupied by anyone with mobility difficulties or children.

We have just enjoyed a great family holiday at Meadowview Barn , aptly named as the views are spectacular from the lounge windows. It was clean and spacious with plenty of space and equipment for the ten of us 6 adults and four children . The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen particularly well equipped. Showers were great and easy to control. We had food delivered on arrival from the local Asda in Kendal which is only about 10 minutes drive away. There is a local public footpath which leads over the fields to the river great for an evening stroll or dog walking. We had trips out walking and rowing, to Ingleton Falls, Ingleton white Scar caves, Fell Foot south Windermere lake for rowing. The children really enjoyed crossing Windermere on the car ferry . Of course the Lake District is not short of wonderful walks. Only downsides were the single track road to access the barn, one of our company damaged a tyre on a pothole, and the neighbours who came out to tell the children they weren’t allowed to play on the patch of driveway (where our cars were parked) between the front door and our patch of garden .

Super accommodation, spotlessly clean and perfect for a large group. The views from the balcony are perfect. Lovely quiet location with an abundance of birds to watch, including very beautiful barn swallows. The owner is very responsive and helpful. Would visit again!

Absolutely beautiful house, in a stunning location only 10 minutes drive from Kendal. The house was spotles and plenty big enough for our group of 10, plus a dog. We had a brilliant stay and couldnt have asked for anything more from the house. Only thing to note is the 2 spots available for parking and that the neighbours are very on it with this (we parked in the wrong spot and they came straight over), so be mindful.
