The cottage was quaint and quirky with a well equipped kitchen and utility room. The living room was comfortable and characterful. The bedrooms were spacious and the large bed comfortable. The bathroom didn’t match the same luxury as it was very cramped and the shower screen leaked. Unfortunately the log burner stove was out of action during our visit which wouldn’t have been a problem if the heating had been easier to use. There were not enough instructions leading us to being unable to override the timer that was set leading the cottage initially to be very cold until eventually after contacting the owner we were given advice that allowed us to be warmer. Negotiating the path to the garden was an adventure but this was probably because we were there in late autumn. I’m sure it would be glorious in the summer. For people who want to explore the lakes and the dales in the spring and summer it would be a great place to base yourselves but other than the 2 pubs in the village you would need to drive to otheramenities
