Climbing the stairs of this homely abode, you will be greeted by two inviting bedrooms; one adaptable room that can be arranged as a single, zip/link king-size, or a twin to suit your needs, complete with a non-Freeview TV and DVD player for your entertainment, and a double room. Both rooms are served by a well-appointed bathroom, boasting a bath with a shower over, a basin, and a WC, where you can enjoy a relaxing soak after a day of adventures. Step outside to the enclosed garden, where you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the lawn or the gravelled area, complete with a picnic bench.

There is also undercover seating, providing a sheltered spot to enjoy the outdoors, regardless of the weather. Just opposite the home is a play park and tennis courts, adding another layer of fun to your break; the village is also home to a welcoming sports and social club where you can enjoy some games and an evening tipple. Additionally, the local pub, The Cross Keys, is only 5 minutes walk away. EV charging available at a cost at local service station, approx. 5 minutes drive. Savour your time away from the hustle and bustle by heading to nearby Stenkrith Park, adorned with unique rock sculptures and the picturesque Podgill Viaduct, a testament to the area's rich industrial history.

The charming old village of Orton sits in a secluded position where the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales meets the eastern fringe of the Lake District National Park. Along with its better-known neighbours of Kendal, Sedbergh and Appleby-in-Westmorland, the area is surrounded by lovely rolling countryside and beautiful scenery. Above the village sits Orton Scar, a limestone hill, used in days gone by to warn the village of Scottish raiders and popular today with walkers. The village centre has an imposing 16th century church, local pub serving good food, a Post Office/shop and the famous handmade chocolate shop and tea room. A lovely village green surrounded by 17th and 18th Century cottages adds to its charm and there is a farmers’ market in the village square on the second Saturday of every month. Take a short drive and discover the unspoilt lake of Haweswater, or take advantage of the excellent road links to the Lake District, the Eden Valley and the rest of the Yorkshire Dales.
