Beach side cottages always prove a popular choice with our guests in the south Lakes so when we had the opportunity to market a seaside retreat in Silverdale, we thought well, why not? Although not strictly Cumbria, this delightful seaside village is only a few miles from Kendal and a mere 20 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale making it an ideal base for exploring no less than three counties in one trip. An area of outstanding natural beauty, nature lovers will revel in the flora and fauna of the area as well as some excellent walking, a fabulous beach and wonderful views of the Lakeland Fells and Morecambe Bay.
The cottage is very traditional, the rooms to the front of the house have panoramic sea views and being so very close to the beach, you can watch the younger ones from the front porch. So, bring the kids, bring your walking boots and bring the dog!

Lovely quiet location right on the beach,( a little upset that there is no sand all rubble then grass on the rocks) high tide the sea comes right in please go careful can get very slippery) beautiful sunsets out the front of the cottage over the sea wow. The cottage has everything you need very well presented, not much of a garden but was ok as we only have small dogs. I would definitely go back

We arrived on a cold January evening to find that the heating wasn't working. After a freezing night with no heat or hot water a plumber finally turned up. The boiler needed replacing. The company only offered unsuitable alternative accommodation so we had to find somewhere else ourselves. Do not risk this property.

Highly recommend Shore Cottage. Despite one or two or reviews we read. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely beds and bed linen, bath (a short one) was a bonus as not listed and separate shower in the lovely bathroom. The heating is great, the cottage gets warm very quickly even in November. No fireguard. Worked really well with our dogs as downstairs has 3 separate rooms, all with hard flooring. No stairgate. Back yard useful with dogs but direct access to beach is perfect! Will definitely be back
