Guests praise the comfortable beds, secure garden, and convenient access to Morecambe, Lancaster, and the Lake District. The property is generally clean and homely, with a well-stocked kitchen and reliable WiFi. Some minor maintenance issues and garden upkeep have been noted, but these do not detract from the overall positive experience. The location is quiet with local pubs nearby, making it a great base for exploring the area.

Most guests found the property clean and welcoming, though a few mentioned areas needing attention, such as musty linens, a greasy cooker, and garden weeding. Overall, cleanliness is good but could be improved with more thorough attention to detail.

Apart from a very comfy bed, friendly locals & nice location I would not recommend this bungalow. Never before have we had to use the garden deck chairs to sit on in a living room. The sofa stank of dog urine. The rug in the living room wasn't cleaned & was covered in dog hair. The main bedroom carpet had been heavily deodorised & when that wore off there was another smell of dog urine by the window as well as stains by bedroom door. The bedroom wardrobe has hoovered out before it could be used. Shower cubicle doors wouldn't close properly leaving a gap for water to spray out. As for the kitchen, one look at the oven door was enough as was the hob & controls. Food residue in cupboards & around the perimeter of the kitchen floor with filthy skirting boards.People don't go on holiday to clean up other people's rubbish. The locals claimed that someone spent at least 3 hours in the property before we arrived. The question is doing what?

Marion house is a lovely little getaway, it is well presented, dog friendly and has more or less everything you need for your stay. The rooms are light and airy, and the beds comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The garden is fully secure so your dogs won’t get out. It could do with a makeover as some parts are looking tired, especially the trellis, adding a few potted plants would really brighten it up. It’s a pity that someone has let their dog chew one of the arms on the chairs. It would be nice if the owner had a barbecue for use when the weather is good. There were a few issues in the property that need sorting out: we found a broken wooden stool in the wardrobe in the main bedroom, it could easily be repaired and put back in use or just remove it. The bathroom door latch is stuck and the boiler cupboard door has an indent in it from the bathroom door handle, again, easily rectified by putting a door stop on the back of the bathroom door. We also found that the shower drain was cracked, this had been reported previously in Dec 25 but it looks like it was just glued back and water from showering has returned it to its former state. All these things are easy fixes and would turn it from 4 star to 5.Overton is ideally situated for visits to the coast, the Lake District and the city of Lancaster. It has two pubs both serve food, but be sure to check opening times! There is an honesty shop up at the barn, and even a garden nursery which has some great plants. We really enjoyed our stay here and are going to return in the future. We would definitely recommend Marion House.

Quiet location, secure garden but in need of good weed. Comfortable beds and good shower. Would benefit from blackout curtains and more mirrors. Sofa not that comfortable. No welcome pack and overall quiet basic facilities. Drive very tight to get on to.
