These three terraced, converted barns have spectacular views of the Cumbrian Fells and Morecambe Bay. In a picturesque setting, on the owner’s working beef and sheep farm, these holiday properties are situated on the edge of the beautiful Trough of Bowland, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in great walking territory. Each property has a patio area with picnic benches, where guests can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. In the parish of Quernmore, the properties are just a short drive from the historic town of Lancaster where there are numerous pubs and restaurants. Leisure facilities nearby include golf courses and the historic Williamson’s Park, which has the beautiful Ashton Memorial and the Butterfly House. Lancaster also has a castle, where the Pendle witches were brought for trial. Other places to visit include the seaside resort of Morecambe, 8 miles, Ingleton and the Yorkshire Dales, 18 miles, Kendal, known as the Gateway to the Lakes is 27 miles, Blackpool, 35 miles, and the cities of Manchester and Liverpool are just over an hour’s drive. Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles.

Some farm animal noises, but what do you expect it is a farm. As I live next to a farm I have a filter so for us it was fine. Views a delight and cottage provided all we could ask for. Not ideally placed for restaurants and pubs and food shopping some distance away, as such a freezer for each cottage may be something to consider. That would be my only suggestion.

Fantastic little cottage, offering the perfect holiday base for exploring the area. Accessible to the lakes and dales with good road links. The views are sensational and it was a very sunny clear Spring week so the sunsets over Morecombe bay 8 miles away were superb as you are elevated in the Trough of Bowland. The cottage has everything you need to prepare meals if needed. Lancaster is only 3 miles away for shopping. I found the Station Inn in nearby Caton to be very doggy friendly with a nice lunchtime menu . Footpath to the moors from the door. WiFi was reliable throughout my stay. I think Valley View is in the best posion of the 3 cottages as its the end terrace and you get front and side window views of countryside. Its a working farm and extremely busy with lambing so quadbike and sheep dog noise comes with the territory. It makes you realise the long hours these farmers put in as Micheal never stopped
