Guests say

Childe Of Hale Cottage receives high praise for its historical charm, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like homemade cake and fresh eggs. Guests appreciate the secure garden for pets, the well-equipped kitchen, and the property's proximity to local attractions and walks. While Wi-Fi connectivity issues are noted, the overall experience is cherished, with many looking forward to returning.

Reviews consistently mention the cottage being very clean, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating a high standard maintained by the hosts.

The location is highly regarded for its beauty, proximity to Liverpool and Chester, and local amenities. One review mentioned aircraft noise, but it did not seem to detract significantly from the overall experience.

Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, especially noting the snug feel on cold days and the presence of a log fire. The comfortable beds and secure garden add to the comfort level.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-stocked kitchen and inclusion of games and DVDs. However, the Wi-Fi connection is reported to be poor to non-existent, which impacts the score.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing items like homemade cake and fresh eggs. While these gifts are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed for every stay.

I sadly never made my holiday because of mechanical problems with my vehicle. However I have been well aware of the cottage and its history for many years. Hale village is a lovely area. In the 1960s my mother would walk all us five kid's there for a lovely summers day out. We walked all the way from Whiston and back again. We loved the cottage and it's local church with it's history, and especially visiting the Giants Grave "John Middleton" known as the Childe of Hale. I hope to visit next year! Mr Phillip Holmes.

The cottage is in a beautiful village onthe south side of Liverpool. Bus will take you into Liverpool city centre or do park and ride from station a few miles away.Walking distance to the river and lighthouse. The cottage was snug on the cold days we were there. A short walk to resturants and pubs. Even on a cold November night we just stayed in and cooked. Kitchen full of equipment and cupbpard of things you might need.Would love to return in summer and chat as everyone in village is friendy and welcoming.......espeially the owners
