Nearby, the Chatsworth Estate offers scenic walks, Chatsworth House itself is a must-see. A short drive will take you to Bakewell, famous for its charming streets and the iconic Bakewell pudding. Matlock and Matlock Bath are also nearby, providing a mix of beautiful scenery and family-friendly attractions, including the Heights of Abraham cable cars and the Gulliver’s Kingdom theme park. Chesterfield, with its famous Crooked Spire, is also close by, offering a vibrant town centre, excellent shopping, and rich local history, you are also close to Meadowhall shopping centre, located in Sheffield, perfect for a rainy day.

Mill Close Cottage is a lovely peaceful place to relax and unwind. The host is pleasant and helpful. It is also a good base to explore The Peak District. We will hopefully be back. We booked Mill Close Cottage while our house had some work done on it and we are glad we did because we found a place that suited us in every way.

Mill close cottage was absolutely gorgeous! We were surrounded by nature, it was beautiful and so peaceful, but still so close to local shops etc. It was the perfect base as it was close enough to get onto main roads and we enjoyed many sights of the Peak District. The owners of the cottage had left us a bottle of milk/orange juice and a cake from the local store and even brought us round fresh eggs. We had the pleasure of seeing the hens! All in all perfect!!!
