Step outside the cottage and guests can enjoy a wonderful patio area with seating, the perfect place to escape to enjoy a glass of something cold on a summer’s eve after a hard day exploring the stunning local area.
Situated in the very heart of the lovely old village of Parwich, it boasts a delightful pub set on picturesque village green with a church, village hall, playground and many pretty cottages. Parwich dates back to the Saxon times and has an air of peace and tranquillity about it. The local pub is a traditional country pub in the serving cask ales and delicious home cooked food. Not only is it a pub, but should you require your groceries, it serves as the village shop. The nearby Manifold River cuts a course through superb scenery and is a delight for both walkers and cyclists, with the ’Manifold Trail’ following the route of the old Leek to Manifold Light Railway.
Nearby is the pretty village of Ilam, the award-winning village of Alstonefield, and Brassington, while golf, horse riding, cycling and sailing are all available within 7 miles. There are so many days out to enjoy such as Alton Towers, or visit the impressive Chatsworth House and Kedleston and Sudbury Halls. Also within easy reach are Matlock Bath and Carsington Water, while further afield are the market towns of Ashbourne and Leek. This really is the perfect place to stay to enjoy an abundance of things to see and do.

The cottage itself is gorgeous, we had a really lovely stay. Our puppy loved looking over the gardens, keeping watch from above. The narrow private road to the property is the only downside. My husband managed it fine but if I had been on my own, I think I would had struggled. The views are beautiful. It’s quite a way from the main road which is lovely and rural but this adds to the journey each time you wish to leave.

Lovely cottage. Well equipped and spotless. Very helpful hosts. Interesting old village with lots of walks locally and within a stones throw to drive. Local pub serves hearty portions of pub grub. Patio area was great. Big sky views. Very peaceful and catches the sun all day.

A beautiful cottage situated in a truly beautiful village. The cottage is furnished to a high standard and has everything you would need. The views are wonderful over the village and down the valley.There are great walks from the door, from easy to more challenging. The nearby village of Tissington is well worth the walk. The village pub Sycamore Inn is superb.Only word of warning is the first internal door frame of the cottage is very low. Those of a taller disposition please duck.We would definitely return.
