Discover the National Trust's Sudbury Hall and Calke Abbey, or visit the market town of Ashbourne, with its antique shops and traditional coaching inns. Enjoy superb cycling and walking in the Manifold Valley, or a day at Alton Towers. Plenty to see and do from this characterful Peak District cottage.
Fenny Bentley is an attractive village in Derbyshire, 2 miles from Ashbourne. The pub and church remain the heart of the village. The Coach & Horses is a welcoming inn with real ales, and the church retains some interesting old features. Ashbourne was once a social centre in the 18th Century, and retains some fine Georgian buildings and a selection of restaurants and interesting shops. The Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by with excellent walking and cycling opportunities, whilst Alton Towers is just a short drive away.

It's quiet, safe, and well located. Owner was most welcoming and unobtrusive, despite living next door. Everything I needed for a single person stay. Local pub (mainly now a food place rather than a drinking establishment) less than two minutes walk. All the facilities of the lovely town of Ashbourne about five to ten minutes drive away.
