I could waffle on and on regarding how lovely this house is to stay. It is warm, roomy, excellant facilities, lovely comfy beds, spotlessly clean. Thinking of booking it for next year. Very helpful owner, who kindly arranged for something I left at the property to be returned (and paid for the postage). People have said about the parking. True you can't very easily park at the house unless you have a smallish car. But there's a free space about 6 minutes walk from the house, courtesy of the owner. You can stll unload and load fine on your day of arrival and exit. Ok there's a few bits that could be improved. There's a leaking gutter, which was a bit noisy if there's a lot of rain ( which the owner has said they will fix). Some of the tiles on the floor are cracked, and a welcome pack would be nice. We did get wine ( lovely) and sweets and biscuits, but after a long drive and expecially if your an age, a cup of tea and toast is what you want. But hey I'm nitpicking. Just go, you won't be disappointed.

The accommodation is simply stunning and very spacious. The layout over three floors is perfect and each bedroom designed for comfort. The bedding was hotel class. We loved the kitchen/dining and living space for entertainment and added bonus of a balcony with scenic views of Bakewell. I had regular contact with the owner who could not have been more helpful and this added to our experience - amazing!

Bathrooms are tastefully decorated and beds and linen lovely. Just be mindful it is over 3 floors so unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. The things letting it down are the small things that could be easy rectified..,lots of chipped glasses and cups and broken and chipped floor tiles. On our arrival it was chilly and the heating was on a timer which we couldn't seem to bypass but it said in the information book there was wood for the fire but unfortunately there wasn't so we had to run out and pay top money for logs from the co-op. Also the remote for the fire was broken or the batteries gone but either way it wouldn't work..I did text the owner on Friday night but they never got back to me which was a bit naughty. I know I'm being a bit picky but having booked property's for our group of friends for the last 13 years we have always arrived to a small welcome pack which I know wasn't advertised but i think is nice when your paying high end prices. Now it says parking for one car which is a bonus but the only thing its one small car no bigger than a Ford focus type and skilful driving required as you have to tuck the car away under a carport with not much room to open the car doors and remember the driver has then got to negotiate getting past the car once its parked ....you can't leave the car out to far because you will restrict the residents next door .. its EXTREMELY TIGHT . Overall a lovely place and with a bit of attention to detail and better communication from the owner it would be perfect
