Damsels Bower in Bakewell is a charming and well-maintained cottage praised for its cosy comfort, modern interior, and suitability as a base for exploring the Peak District. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting, cleanliness, and the amenities provided, though some note the limited headroom in upstairs bedrooms and tight parking space. The cottage is ideal for couples or small groups, with its quaint design and convenient location for walks and local attractions.
The cottage is generally described as clean and well-maintained. One guest mentioned finding crumbs in the table grooves, but this seems to be an isolated comment and not a major concern.
The location is highly praised for being peaceful and a great base for exploring the Peak District, with easy access to Bakewell and Buxton. The proximity to walking trails and local attractions adds to its appeal.
The cottage is considered cosy and comfortable, particularly for smaller groups. However, guests note that the upstairs bedrooms have restricted headroom and that seating and fridge space may be inadequate for larger groups.
Facilities are generally good, with plenty of hot water, a washing machine, and modern decor. Some guests suggested improvements, such as clearer oven instructions and better cleaning of minor areas. The small fridge size was also noted.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to assess this category.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here which is a very good base for exploring the Peak district. The upstairs bedrooms have restricted headroom but everything was well-appointed and clean. Some instructions for the oven would have been handy and the parking space is very tight, especially if you have a larger car as we did, but these are very minor points on what we felt was an excellent find - we would stay again.

A lovely cottage in a peaceful setting. There were only two of us staying in the cottage, although it has 3 bedrooms, and capacity for 5 people. It had adequate space for the 2 of us, but if 5 people were staying, there is not enough sofa seating, and the fridge is nowhere big enough to store food, if the cottage is at full capacity. As a couple we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would have no hesitation in staying here again.
