Located in the picturesque village of Birchover, with its scattering of inviting village pubs, this comfortable, detached cottage certainly has a lot to offer its guests. Wonderful accommodation and views really do make Rock Cottage a lovely place to stay, dogs are welcome, and other pets may be accepted by request.
There are many trails which start straight from the front door, an ideal opportunity to park the car, put the car keys away and just relax! Birchover is a historic village within easy reach of Matlock and Matlock Bath, and local to Chatsworth House and many other historic attractions. The charming market town of Bakewell is also close by as is Haddon Hall and its beautiful gardens. Based in the Peak District National Park, Rock Cottage really is a great base from which to explore the beauty of the region’s peaks, dales, rivers, cycle trails and network of footpaths. Great cottage. Access via steps not a problem for us but may be problematic for others. Parking up the road not ideal but also worked okay for us. Local pub was brilliant as were the numerous walks using the footpaths and lanes to neighbouring villlages. Lots of historic sites were interesting. Good communication from owners too.
