Step inside and be welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. There are three levels to the cottage; enter through the main door into the ground floor, where you will find the well-equipped kitchen, which provides all the essentials for cooking up a storm, whether it be a hearty breakfast or a delicious dinner, with access to a small balcony giving an amazing view of the river and village church. Descend the spiral staircase to the living/dining room, with its plush seating and wood burner, it’s the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the stunning surrounding countryside. Take in the breathtaking views of the River Sett from the patio, accessed through the French doors from the living room, the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Overlooking the river on the opposite bank is St Matthew’s Church, with its imposing clock tower. There is a staircase to the top floor where the two bedrooms are a real treat, each with their own unique character. The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It’s a peaceful little village, popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away. The village caters well for tourists with pubs, cafes and restaurants. Other local attractions include the Goyt Valley, Castleton – with its famous caverns - and the popular spa town of Buxton.
