Private parking for 2 cars. Transport can be arranged to pick up guests arriving via public transport, 48 hours notice is required.. Originally a much loved home rather than a holiday let, Silk Hill Stables still retains its homely ambiance with many original features and great attention to detail. This spacious one bedroom stable conversion is on a working livery and offers comfortable accommodation in scenic rural surroundings on the edge of the Peak District National Park. From the owner’s gate the famous Kinder Scout can be seen and there are many picturesque walks direct from the doorstep.
For those with four-legged travelling companions a dog hatch leads from the kitchen into the completely enclosed patio area, with seating and barbecue which is great for the long summer nights. You’ll find lots of useful doggy extras, and as an added bonus by prior arrangement with the owner there is even an outdoor area on site where you can let your dogs have a run around stress free. A short walk will take you into the small friendly town of Whaley Bridge where you’ll find food serving pubs, all dog friendly, cafés and restaurants. 5 minutes the other way is the famous Buxworth Basin . There is a train station in Whaley Bridge with direct services to both Manchester and Buxton. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ½ mile.

Finally a truly dog friendly cottage :-)Will definitely be returning to Silk Hill Stables. Liz couldn’t have been more welcoming. The facilities are amazing, both for humans and dogs. Super well stocked and lots of thoughtful gifts. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

This is one to visit, set in such beautiful surroundings. A dog walkers / walkers paradise. Highly recommend 👌 the owners are lovely, helpful and will give you all local spots to visit,There's a little village within minutes has everyone you need.Takeaways delivered (very good).You are made to feel like its home from home, with extra luxury.I have 3 dogs. One deaf spotty who is a little devil.. but she had such a ball. Playing , walking and sniffs by afternoon snoring.. If your looking for tranquility & peace and beautiful surroundings. This is it !

Liz could not be more helpful , from picking hubby,our 3 greyhounds and me form the train station. Made us feel welcome and was helpful with where we could go by bus , train and walking. We sure will be booking again and would recommend this to our many doggy friends 🧡
