Guests frequently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as spotless and well-kept. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experience of the visitors.

The location is highly praised for its fantastic views, tranquility, and convenience for walking and visiting local pubs. The proximity to Edale and scenic walks directly from the cottage is a highlight for many guests.

The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, with a particularly comfy bed and a warm atmosphere. Some guests mention the firmness of the bed, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped for guests' needs. However, there are occasional mentions of limited phone signal and a 'funny television set up', which suggests room for improvement in this category.

About this property

A detached stone-built cottage with all of the accommodation on the ground floor. The property is close to the owners' farmhouse, on a working hill farm, and has a pleasant sunny aspect with lovely open views. The farm is approached by a lane and is situated in the peaceful, idyllic and rural hamlet of Ollerbrook just 10 minutes' walk from Edale village. The property has been skilfully created from the conversion of an old barn and makes a cosy retreat at any time of the year.

Within the Peak District National Park and nestled at the foot of Kinder Scout is the pretty High Peak village of Edale. With two pubs - both of which serve food - a village post office and general store as well as a Moorland Visitors Centre, this charming little town provides a variety of local amenities. In addition there is also a railway station close by, offering easy access to larger towns in the area and throughout the country. As the start of the famous Pennine Way, Edale offers a huge variety of walking routes for people of all abilities. Not far from this charming village are the popular blue-John caves and the lovely town of Castleton. For more specialised shops and a wider variety of restaurants, the spa town of Buxton is well worth visiting and is within easy driving distance.

The location is perfect for walks straight out the door, or a short walk to the train station for neighbouring towns, as well as being easy to get to by road. The cottage itself is cosy, comfortable, and has everything you need for a short break, and was a welcome warm hideaway in the wind and rain. Even better, the views over valley to Mam Tor are spectacular and there's nothing better than curling up on the sofa with a tea, biscuit, and watching the sheep, walkers, and trains go by. We look forward to coming back again.
