A small, pretty cosy traditional limestone studio cottage which has recently been refurbished, situated on the outskirts of the lovely village of Bradwell in the Peak District National Park. This ground floor studio near Bradwell is accessed by three steps and offers simple, comfortable and very cosy accommodation in this lovely village location; perfect for exploring the Peak District. There is an outdoor bench from which to relax and enjoy the spectacular view of Bradwell Edge and there is plenty of varied walking from the door, as well as a choice of renowned cycle trails within easy reach. The attractions of Castleton are also nearby, including the imposing ruined castle and the caves and Edale, the start of the Pennine Way.
With wonderful countryside, historic houses, theme parks and market towns offering fine, locally-produced food and drink, you'll be spoilt for choice at what to do next. This lovely Bradwell cottage is an economical base that has all the essentials for comfortable living, for your Peak District break at any time of the year. The Peak District village of Bradwell is in the Hope Valley, in the Peak District National Park, home to shops, pubs and eateries. Castleton is 3 miles away and is overlooked by the crumbling Mam Tor or Shivering Mountain. The Edale Valley - the start of the Pennine Way - is also nearby. Visit Hathersage, Bakewell, the Spa town of Buxton and Chatsworth House.

It is tiny and a little cramped with very little storage space but it is cunningly designed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. So while there is no wardrobe or chest of drawers there are hanging hooks everywhere and a pull-out drawer under the bed. The bed itself is very comfy and the studio was cosy and warm. The ensuite is also very small with the tiniest of sinks but the shower works fine with good pressure and plenty of hot water. Don't expect to cook extravagant meals as the galley kitchen is also very small and basic but it is well-equipped with everything you need. As a single woman on her own it worked really well. For a couple and especially if you are tall it might be a bit of a squeeze. But the owners have priced it accordingly and I thought it was exceptional value for my short stay in the Peaks. Having had a car accident en route, I was also very grateful to the hosts for allowing me a late check out whilst waiting for vehicle recovery. So all round, (and if you are of smaller proportions!) I would be very happy to recommend.

The Studio was very dirty, finger marks all over the large mirror above the bed. Dust and fluff behind the bed. The tv screen had marks all over it. The bedding was faded and tired looking. When we stripped the bed on departure there were stains all over the duvet

It's really small but everything is there - it has kitchen facilities but it's more for a cuppa and some breakfast rather than a 3 course meal! But that's fine, it's a short walk from one pub and a slightly longer walk to another, plus the co-op is nearby so you won't go hungry. Lots of places to visit or go walking within a short drive, perfect for a long weekend getaway.
