About this property

A stone-built, single-storey cottage adjoining the owners' farmhouse in the tiny rural hamlet of Ollerbrook. The owners' working hill farm is approached by a farm lane and is situated just 10 minutes' walk from the village of Edale. The property is very comfortably furnished and enjoys a southerly aspect with superb, unspoilt views of the surrounding hills and valley.

Within the Peak District National Park is the pretty High Peak village of Edale. Set at the foot of Kinder Scout, this charming little settlement has two pubs - both of which serve good food - a village post office, general store and a Moorland Visitors Centre. There is also a railway station that is situated conveniently close by, allowing for easy access to neighbouring towns and the rest of the country, whilst Edale itself is the start of the famous Pennine Way and offers excellent walking facilities for people of all abilities. Nearby are the popular blue-John caves of Castleton, as well as the lovely spa town of Buxton. Within easy reach and providing many essential amenities, this lovely town is worth a visit.

Many walks straight from the doorstep. Accommodation was clean and tidy, seats and bed etc were comfy. Had all you need service your stay re kitchen equipment etc. Friendly owner on site in adjoining farmhouse without being intrusive.

Ideally located for walkers as footpath passes within 50 metres of property. Attractive sheltered garden with patio and furniture. Two decent pubs serving good pub food and a shop are a 10-15 min walk along a flat footpath. For those wanting a break from the numerous walks Edale is a good base for travelling elsewhere (Chatsworth,, Bakewell, Lyme Estate, Longshaw......)

We were very lucky with the weather wall to wall sunshine and surrounded by new born lambs. A marvellous week all round.
