Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful decorative touches. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Peak District, with local amenities and scenic walks nearby. While a few minor issues are mentioned, such as steep stairs and occasional maintenance niggles, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a highly recommended choice for a relaxing countryside break.
Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, very clean, and well maintained. Only one or two minor comments (e.g., a missing toilet brush) were noted, but these did not detract from the overall impression.
The location is universally praised, with guests loving the central position in Eyam, proximity to local pubs, tea rooms, and walks, as well as easy access to the wider Peak District. The setting is described as peaceful and ideal for exploring the area.
Guests find the cottage cosy, comfortable, and homely, with particular mention of comfy beds, a warm atmosphere, and a great shower. A few noted steep stairs and, in one review, slightly tired mattresses, but these were minor compared to the overall comfort.
The cottage is described as well equipped, with everything needed for a pleasant stay, including a well-stocked kitchen, wood burner, games, books, and even an air fryer. Minor issues included a small fridge, loose toilet seat, and an out-of-date carbon monoxide detector, but these were rare.
Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as decorative details, Christmas decorations, and a welcome call from the owner. While some reviews mention firewood and maps being provided, please note that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

There is an external door that opens to the rear yard. Upstairs the master bedroom enjoys views over the neighbouring croft and Eyam Edge beyond. The second bedroom has two single beds and original stone fireplace and garden view. The bedrooms share a bright and airy family bathroom, refurbished in 2023. 3 Nights. Great location and ideal for relaxing, watching the world go by from the front patio. Tip, take toilet paper with you. It is not provided and may prove to be an inconvenience. There are plenty of opportunities to hit your head as you go through to the kitchen. It’s all part of the holiday!
