Midfeather Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location for walking and exploring the Peak District. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, the peaceful farm setting, and the friendly hosts. The thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts, add to the charm of this cosy retreat.

Guests consistently mention the cleanliness of the cottage, describing it as spotless and well-presented, which indicates a high standard of hygiene and care.

The location is frequently highlighted as perfect, with easy access to walks, local pubs, and attractions. Its proximity to scenic paths and the countryside is a standout feature.

Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests finding the cottage cosy, the beds super comfortable, and the setting peaceful. The warm welcome and cosy atmosphere contribute to the overall comfort.

Facilities are well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped for cooking and relaxation. However, some guests noted minor issues with blunt knives and intermittent Wi-Fi, which slightly impacts the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through mentions of welcome gifts such as tea, coffee, and biscuits. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it's important to note that such gifts are subject to change and not guaranteed.

About this property

A charming semi-detached barn conversion, situated next to the owners’ farmhouse on their working sheep farm, in the small, rural hamlet of Ollerbrook, just 10 minutes' walk from the lovely village of Edale. Skilfully converted by local craftsmen, this 17th century former working barn is the ideal base for a couple on a romantic retreat or a small family looking to enjoy all that the beautiful Peak District National Park has to offer. Boasting oak beams and stonework, this welcoming cottage is set over two floors, with an open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting area on the ground floor, whilst on the upper floor are two bedrooms and a shower room. Outside is a patio area, so relax and sit back with a cold drink on a summer’s evening. Walks and cycle routes can be found in the area, plus the valley of Edale is waiting to be explored, as is the spa town of Buxton, Chatsworth House and many other places of interest nearby. A cottage with plenty of character in great surroundings.

The lovely High Peaks village of Edale is the start of the Pennine way and liesat the foot of Kinder Scout. It has two pubs, and one of them, The Nags Head, is usually accepted as the start of The Pennine Way walk. With credentials like these it's little wonder that the area attracts so many walkers, and they won't be disappointed. The village has a general store combined with a post office and a Moorland Visitor Centre. Castleton is only four miles away and is a village that has something for everyone, a ruined Norman Castle, Blue John caves and all under the auspicious gaze of Mam Tor, "The Shivering Mountain." All in all the charming village of Edale is a fabulous holiday location.
