About this property

Settled on a quiet lane in the sought-after village of Hepworth near Holmfirth, is this wonderful, stone-fronted property, Chimney Cottage. Retaining much of its character with exposed brick walls, beams and a woodburning stove, this pet-friendly home is ideal for a small family or three friends looking for a rural escape. Park up on the roadside before making your way inside to the porch, where you can house your muddy walking boots, ready to explore the Holme Valley. Locate the open-plan living space, hosting a contemporary kitchen, where the chef of the group can rustle up hearty meals, courtesy of the electric oven and induction hob and when dinner is served, gather at the breakfast bar. Relax and unwind with a cup of tea on the sofa as the woodburning stove flickers in front of you and catch up on your favourite Netflix show on the Smart TV. When eyes grow heavy, climb the stairs, and admire the sleek glass panelling as you make your way up to choose your bedroom. There are two well-presented bedrooms to rest your head, curl up in the single where you can admire the countryside in the distance or climb into the king-size, where a smart TV offers late night entertainment. Awaken with a hot rinse in the rainfall like shower in the shower room and a steaming cup of coffee out on the front patio; why not open up a book to relish the peaceful setting? Chimney Cottage is just moments away from a gastropub for a refreshing pint or a home-cooked meal or for a greater selection of pubs and restaurants, take a short drive into the historic town of Holmfirth. Browse around a plethora of independent shops and savour unique wines at the vineyard and if that's not for you, Holmfirth is renowned for its art scene, so be sure to pop into a local art gallery. The bustling market town of Huddersfield is also within easy reach, with a number of different family activities available including a cinema, bowling alley and a leisure centre including a splash park! For a memorable escape to West Yorkshire, secure Chimney Cottage.

Scholes is a small village in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, not far from Holmfirth. The village has a cricket club and scenic walking and cycling trails. Parking is a big issue, with nothing allocated to the cottage it’s first come, first served. The chairs at the breakfast / island are too high to eat comfortably from and the cooking utensils are limited. The shower is very awkward to get in and out due to limited space and would benefit with a handle being fitted. Entrance is also very restricted, especially after walking all day and returning with muddy boots, back packs and dying for that cup of tea.. Overall, well renovated for a tiny cottage but well over priced for the ‘luxury’ tag.

The cottage is well equipped and very cosy with a high standard of furnishings. Great pub very close what more could you ask for?

The only comment I have is that there were two sets of towels for three people, but we managed fine with what there was. The hosts were very helpful in sorting out a microwave issue we had through not reading the instructions!
