The Shearer's Hut is a detached stone building in the village of Holme, West Yorkshire. Once a bunking hut for roving shearers, the single floor accommodation possesses an authentic charm combined with retro furniture and a touch of modern luxury․

Stepping inside you immediately feel welcomed by the warmth of the underfloor heating․ The living space houses a microwave, mini fridge, toaster and kettle, allowing you to prepare basic meals which can be enjoyed inside or out․

Along with the accommodation you have access to a pretty garden area with seating and outdoor lighting, having far reaching views across the valley. Two great pubs, serving fabulous food, are within walking distance of The Shearers Hut (one directly across the road). The cities of Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester are nearby and can be reached by local bus and train services. The nearby market town of Holmfirth, which can be reached easily on local bus, offers a wider selection of amenities such as pubs with on-site breweries, artisan bakers, great cafes and restaurants plus attractions such as the infamous Picture Drome music venue, Ashley Jackson's Gallery, the Holmfirth Vineyard. Annual festivals such as the September food and drink festival, the May folk festival, the June Arts festival, the July Motor sport festival and regular music and film festivals ensure that there is something for everyone. The small village of Holmbridge is situated just 1 mile from the traditional Pennine market town of Holmfirth, within the beautiful Holme Valley. The village has two pubs, a cricket club, a convenience store, a church and its own vineyard which offers tours, tasting and great food. In 2014 the Tour de France passed through the village and the challenging climb of Holme Moss is nearby. Close by, the town of Holmfirth has old stone cottages, winding streets, parks, shops, bars, restaurants and the infamous music venue, The Picturedrome. The Holme Valley hosts a number of festivals throughout the year including the now famous Festival of Folk (May), The Arts Festival (June) Food and Drink festival (September) and a great Music Festival (October). These main festivals run alongside and with other smaller festivals and weekends, such as the Film Festival, The Macmillan Art Exhibition, the Christmas markets, The Scarecrow Festival and, of course, the big cycle race ‘Le Tour De Yorkshire’, this is a wonderfully cultural place to visit. The town was made famous as the setting for the long-running comedy series Last of the Summer Wine. The nearby Colne Valley is home to fictional Skelthwaite from the Where the Heart Is series and, within reach, is the wonderful Peak District National Park – the setting for many picturesque and breathtaking scenic views. The town of Huddersfield and the bright lights of Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield are all within a short drive, making this an ideal base for exploring this exciting and exquisite area of Yorkshire.
