The owner is friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I really appreciated the tea and biscuits - and my dog loved the treats - left for us. It is a great base for exploring the Peak District and is very handy for the Manifold Way. The views from the cottage are amazing and there is a small garden in which to sit and take it all in. Very peaceful and quiet. I had intended to do a lot of cross stitch, crochet and sewing while there but as it turned out I had to be out all day every day, which is just as well as I think the cottage would have been a bit dark for this - it could do with a window out to the back. But I had a very enjoyable stay and I had everything I needed for a great break in a beautiful location.

Although small it was well organised and had room for food preparation and eating as well as relaxing in the evening. There was also some storage space. The small garden at the back of the cottage has lovely views. There were lots of lovely walks from the door and it was in easy reach of Dovedale, Chatsworth and Eyam. We and our dog were made very welcome by the owner.
