The Old Dairy at Wooton offers a peaceful rural retreat with attractive surroundings and easy access to countryside walks. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, large towels, fast internet, and dog-friendly atmosphere. While the cottage is generally comfortable and cosy, some guests noted issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and privacy, particularly in the bathroom and outdoor areas. The location is quiet yet convenient for exploring Lewes and local attractions. Overall, the property provides a pleasant stay, especially for those seeking tranquillity and good connectivity.
Guests found the property generally clean on arrival, but several reviews mention mould in the bathroom, dirty grouting, and a need for more thorough cleaning, particularly in the shower area.
The cottage is praised for its quiet, rural setting with beautiful surroundings and excellent walking opportunities, though some found local footpaths overgrown and privacy limited due to neighbouring properties.
The cottage is described as comfy and cosy, with quality towels and a well-equipped kitchen. However, issues with heat, limited ventilation, and uncomfortable armchairs were noted by some guests.
Facilities such as fast internet, kitchen appliances, and dog-friendly features are appreciated. Some maintenance issues were reported, including faulty lights, drainage, and worn furnishings, but repairs were arranged promptly when reported.
A small welcome pack with coffee pods and tea bags was provided, but guests noted the absence of milk and an information pack. Please note that gifts or welcome packs are not guaranteed.

I booked The Old Dairy for my mother in law's birthday - this is her review:-My stay coincided with a heatwave, but nothing had been done to alleviate the heat ahead of my arrival, (possibly by pulling the curtains?) and the whole place, being a wooden structure was absolutely roasting. There is a problem with the design of The Old Dairy, as the only ventilation comes from two very small windows. The large windows at the front of the kitchen area, do not open. There is no airflow. An electric fan was provided, but this was inadequate. The 'Welcome Pack' consisted of coffee pods and tea bags, but no milk or anything else! The sensor operating the outside light was not working properly, and the light was flashing constantly throughout the night. All visible from the bed, making it extremely difficult to sleep. The owner was not able to solve this problem, and made us aware that the sensor was necessary for his insurance, so by the third night and desperate for sleep, we decided to cover the light with gaffer tape. There was mould around the shower tray, and plenty of flies in the bathroom and bedroom. The armchairs were not comfortable to sit in for any length of time.It did not feel private with close neighbours at the front and back of the property.I had to endure loud music from back of property at 1.00amNeedless to say I will not be returning!

We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be coming back. We stayed for a while while waiting for our house move to complete, and it was perfect for us. The internet is super fast - ideal for working from home, especially as Im a video editor - and honestly the best Ive had. Its also very dog-friendly, and our dog Pochie loved it and made friends with the owners lovely dogs. There are amazing walks all around, which made the stay even better.
